Enthusiasm is the only option

This speech by the late Jimmy Valvano at the 1993 ESPYs is a reminder that life should be filled with laughter, enthusiasm, thought, and genuine emotion.

Our schools deserve people with the spirit and determination of Jimmy Valvano showing kids all the great things that can be accomplished with a life well lived.

I could not agree any more with the focus of living life well. This video makes me reflect on whether or not I am doing everything I can for my family and my staff and students. Am I providing them the opportunities to laugh, think and experience emotions of life? The key word- enthusiasm. This is an item that is a matter of choice. We have the free agency to bring many emotions to school, but non can be more impactful than enthusiasm. Enthusiams for our learning, our professions and our people. Live, love, and laugh.
