The University of Oregon, the birthplace of DIBELS, from all I can see has a companion
website on reading. It is a great place to go to get some understanding of the elements of reading that DIBELS assesses and the rationale for their approach to diagnosis and intervention. I'm finally getting my head around the term "phonological awareness". Hey, it only took 2 1/2 years!

We've had DIBELS in our system for two years now. I had the inservice and I have a nifty book but thankfully I've never had to give a single assessment. They seem so absolutely boring to give....I'd end up sticking a pencil in my eye. At any rate our resource reading teachings handle this and I'm spared injury to my eyes.
Thanks for visiting History Is Elementary and the kind words. Love the name of your site....lovely turn of the phrase...
